From Quincy University

Founded in 1860 by Franciscan friars, Quincy University is a Catholic, coed, residential university offering undergraduate, graduate and adult education programs that integrate liberal arts, active learning, practical experience and Franciscan values. 1,100 students attend QU from 33 states and 9 foreign countries.

A caring and engaged learning community, QU embraces its Franciscan heritage while promoting the values of inclusion and respect for all creation. Students of all faiths and beliefs are welcomed and encouraged to grow personally and to serve others. Each year 100% of students participate in community service through campus ministry and mission trips.

Nestled within Quincy, a Illinois city situated on limestone bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, students enroll in more than 40 undergraduate majors and four graduate programs. Students gain insight not just from their major but from many fields of study, with an emphasis on thinking critically and seeing issues from different points of view. Learning is grounded in the real world, taught by faculty members who are leaders in their fields and supplemented by significant internships in the workplace. Over 70% of full-time faculty have the highest degrees in their fields. Student-faculty ratio is 15:1, and the average class size is 20 students.

QU competes at the NCAA Division II level in 18 sports. Students can choose from more than 30 clubs and organizations. 98% of students from all family income levels receive need-based or merit-based financial aid. Approximately 92.5% of graduates find jobs in their field or enroll in graduate school within six months of graduation.
