From Elmhurst University

Elmhurst University (IL), is located in a quiet, safe suburb close to shopping and restaurants and just a 30-minute train ride to Chicago.  The 48-acre Elmhurst campus is a registered arboretum boasting more than 900 varieties of trees and shrubs. The University was founded in 1871 and has a long history of preparing students for lifetimes of professional achievement.

Elmhurst offers its 2,800 traditional undergraduates a choice of more than 70 majors, including 15 pre-professional programs. An honors program provides additional opportunities for especially motivated, talented and curious students. All classes at Elmhurst are taught by professors, not teaching assistants. The average class has 20 students; the student-to-faculty ratio - 13 to 1 - is among the best in higher education. Full-time staff members devoted to professional practice help students explore career options, land great internships and turn dreams into a working reality. Students get involved in more than 100 activities, from theatre to intramurals to the mock trial team to 20 varsity sports.
