From Asbury University

With a commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality, Asbury University (Wilmore, KY) encourages its 1,300 students to study, worship and serve together on a campus located 20 minutes southwest of Lexington, Kentucky's second largest city.

A multi-denominational Christian institution, the University draws students from 44 states and 14 foreign nations. Located among rolling hills and horse farms, Asbury's picturesque 739-acre campus includes an equestrian center. Asbury's 17 academic departments offer 50 majors, including equine management, with media communications the most popular choice. An accelerated adult degree completion program is offered on campus and at an Orlando, FL campus.

A sense of community pervades Asbury. Internships, exchange programs, missions and community service opportunities are available and integrated into the curriculum. The Purple Eagles compete in 15 varsity sports; the prestige of Asbury athletics got a boost when pitcher Gardner Adams was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 2011 baseball draft.
