From Wesleyan College

Founded in 1836, Wesleyan is the first college in THE WORLD chartered to grant degrees to women. Today, we continue to educate women to do the extraordinary in their professions and in service to their communities.

Students choose from 28 majors, including the bachelor of science in nursing, as well as 29 minors, self-designed interdisciplinary studies, and eight pre-professional programs. Wesleyan offers a dual degree in engineering in conjunction with Georgia Institute of Technology, Auburn University, and Mercer University.

Wesleyan draws a global mix of women – about 700 in all – from across the U.S. and from more than 20 countries, bringing to campus a multitude of backgrounds and ethnicities. Our 200-acre lakeside campus in Macon, GA is located just 90 minutes south of Atlanta.

Research shows that students at women's colleges are almost three times more likely to be involved in varsity athletics than at co-ed public universities. Wesleyan is home to five NCAA Division III sports: soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and softball. Plus, we offer an award-winning Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Equestrian program.

"From Here to Career" is Wesleyan's four-year plan designed to help students make connections between a liberal arts education and success in the workplace. Students are exposed to opportunities geared toward preparing them for life after college, exploring professional and career choices, and developing and demonstrating the knowledge and skills essential for professional success in any field.

Neighborhood

Located in a residential area of Macon, Wesleyan College's campus sits near tree-lined streets with convenient access to local shopping and dining options along nearby commercial corridors. Students enjoy a peaceful, suburban setting that balances academic focus with easy access to the broader Macon community, including downtown attractions, restaurants, and entertainment venues just a short drive away. The neighborhood offers a safe, quiet environment ideal for studying while remaining close enough to city amenities for weekend outings and social activities.
