From Jacksonville University

SMART. CREATIVE. FEARLESS.

Founded in 1934, JU has evolved from a small business college into a vibrant, highly-ranked private university. JU combines a strong liberal arts core with professional programs and certifications designed to make students life ready.

JU enrolls more than 4,000 students in over 70 majors and degree programs, ranging from bachelors to doctorate level. As the oldest private university in all of north Florida and southern Georgia, JU has graduated more than 29,000 alumni from every U.S. state and more than 90 countries. Come explore our beautiful 250-acre riverfront campus and experience the Jacksonville University culture of excellence.

Selecting one college over another is a significant decision. At JU, we offer popular fields of study like aviation management, biology, nursing, business analytics, marine science, kinesiology, engineering, cybersecurity, dance, music, and even a three-minor major.

Not only is JU a premier institution, we're also located in sunny, northeast Florida, minutes from downtown and a short drive from the ocean. A metropolitan hub, our river city consists of unique communities, restaurants, arts venues, sports complexes and entertainment. Jacksonville is also home to the largest urban park system in the nation, offering year-round recreation, including NFL games, championship golf, baseball, pro- soccer, fishing, surfing, kayaking and more. JU's students are smart, creative, and fearless. Here you will discover that you aren’t just selecting a college - you're entering a family.

Neighborhood

Jacksonville University's campus sits in a residential neighborhood along the scenic San Marco area, offering students a quieter setting with easy access to the city's cultural attractions and dining scene. The tree-lined streets provide a peaceful atmosphere for studying, while nearby shops, cafes, and restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive, giving students options for weekend entertainment and casual hangouts. The location balances campus life with urban convenience, allowing students to enjoy both a focused academic environment and the amenities of Jacksonville's vibrant downtown and riverside districts.
