From Ottawa University

Founded in 1865, Ottawa University prepares you for a lifetime of personal significance, vocational fulfillment and service to God and humanity as a Christ-inspired community of grace and open inquiry. We strive to develop the whole person by providing an education that is student-centered, value-priced, technology-enabled, and rooted firmly in teaching excellence.

Our dedicated faculty and staff will provide guidance every step of the way, from the moment you first arrive on campus to the day you walk across the stage for graduation. With great pride in, and commitment to our students, OU provides a transformative experience that meets you where you are and takes you where you want to go.

Our residential Kansas campus, located 50 miles from downtown Kansas City, offers undergraduates enormous possibilities outside the classroom — campus ministries, performing arts, fraternities, sororities and a wide variety of student organizations. OU offers 33 varsity athletic teams, including numerous unexpected possibilities — beach volleyball, bowling, competitive cheer and dance, esports, women’s flag football (National Champions), lacrosse, men’s and women’s powerlifting, men’s volleyball, and women’s wrestling.

Overall, Ottawa University also offers three campus locations for adult learners, a second residential campus, as well as robust online instruction. The University is affiliated with the Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma and the American Baptist Churches USA.
