SAGE Scholars Educational Foundation Celebrates 23 Outstanding Students as Winners of The Fifth Annual Dr. James B. Johnston Scholarship Competition

The SAGE Scholars Educational Foundation is proud to announce the winners of the highly anticipated Fifth Annual Dr. James B. Johnston Scholarship Competition. This prestigious scholarship program, named in honor of the founder of SAGE Scholars, Dr. James B. Johnston, has successfully identified 23 remarkable students who have demonstrated not only academic excellence but also exemplary leadership and a commitment to serving their communities.


The Fifth Annual Dr. James B. Johnston Scholarship Competition garnered an outstanding response from talented students nationwide, each showcasing their exceptional potential and commitment to academic excellence. The scholarships awarded are a testament to the Educational Foundation's unwavering dedication to empowering and supporting the next generation of scholars.

The 23 scholarship recipients are as follows:



  • Aidan Dyga of Wexford, PA, will be attending Allegheny College in the fall.

  • Samuel Wilson of Braddock, PA, will be attending Duquesne University in the fall.

  • Vincent Mohr of San Fernando, CA, will be attending Point Park University in the fall.

  • Jade Michalowski of Levittown, PA, will be attending Juniata College in the fall.

  • Madison Ingram of Tomball, TX, will be attending Southwestern University in the fall.

  • Victoria Conner of Ridley Park, PA, will be attending The College of Wooster in the fall.

  • Owen Kime of Waterloo, NY, will be attending Paul Smith's College in the fall.

  • Leo Blum of New York, NY, will be attending Champlain College in the fall.

  • Gabriella Buttari of Pittsburgh, PA, will be attending Eckerd College in the fall.

  • Anna Howerton of Winston Salem, NC, will be attending High Point University in the fall.

  • Nate Valentine of Blue Bell, PA, will be attending Mount St. Mary's University in the fall.

  • Olivia Dorn of Dousman, WI, will be attending the University of Mary in the fall.

  • Kaitlyn Chacalos of Kittanning, PA, will be attending Seton Hill University in the fall.

  • Alexis Buckley of Mapleton Depot, PA, will be attending Mount Aloysius College in the fall.

  • Gianna Kocur of Cary, NC, will be attending High Point University in the fall.

  • Kira Colosimo of Gilbertsville, PA, will be attending Clarkson University in the fall.

  • Charlotte Mankovich of Murrysville, PA, will be attending The College of Wooster in the fall.

  • Olivia VanWie of McDonald, PA, will be attending Duquesne University in the fall.

  • Jacob Mangold of Dyer, IN, will be attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Daytona Beach in the fall.

  • Joseph G. Vizza Jr. of Hatboro, PA, will be attending Neumann University in the fall.

  • Philipp Drappatz of Pittsburgh, PA, will be attending The College of Wooster in the fall.

  • Sadie Leary of Elkins Park, PA will be attending Susquehanna University in the fall.

  • Daniel Chaves of Burlington, MA, will be attending Wentworth Institute of Technology in the fall.


Each of the 23 winners will be awarded a scholarship of $1,000, which will provide valuable financial assistance in pursuing their higher education goals.
