Pennsylvania College of Art & Design Joins SAGE Scholars College Consortium
Pennsylvania College of Art & Design is a private, nonprofit art and design college located in the heart of Lancaster, Pennsylvania's vibrant arts district. Founded in 1982, PCA&D has built a reputation for rigorous studio education grounded in professional practice. Students pursue Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees in Animation & Game Art, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Live Experience Design, and Photography & Video, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Design Thinking and associate degrees in select disciplines. All students begin with a Foundation Year in drawing, design, and liberal arts, building the critical thinking and communication skills that define a well-rounded creative professional.
What sets PCA&D apart is its identity as a micro-college, where small scale translates to big impact. With an 8:1 student-to-faculty ratio, students receive individualized mentorship from faculty who are active, working practitioners in their fields, not just instructors. Students work with real clients, exhibit their work publicly, and build the professional networks that carry them into their careers. PCA&D's campus at 204 North Prince Street places students at the center of Lancaster's cultural community, surrounded by galleries, theaters, and creative organizations that extend the learning experience beyond the studio.
PCA&D's excellence is reflected in its recognition both regionally and nationally. Ranked among the top 20 colleges for design in the nation by Niche and in the top 5% of colleges for art, PCA&D is accredited by both the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), with accreditation reaffirmed in 2023, and the National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD). Its alumni have gone on to work with industry leaders, including Disney and Nickelodeon, and its growing LiveX program is designed to prepare graduates for high-growth careers in live experience and event production.
SAGE Scholars is proud to welcome Pennsylvania College of Art & Design to its consortium and looks forward to connecting Tuition Rewards families with this remarkable institution. For more information about PCA&D, visit their profile below.
