Overview

A residency training program that prepares physicians to promote health, prevent disease, and manage the health of communities and defined populations; combines population-based public health skills with knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention-oriented clinical practice in a wide variety of settings. One of three general certificates in the area of preventive medicine. Note: this medical specialty merges the previous subspecialties of preventive medicine and public health medicine. This CIP code is not valid for IPEDS reporting
